THE COOLPOCKETS® STORY
is a documentary that follows the entertainment career of
Paul Guzman-Sanchez, also known as COOLPOCKETS®.
Starting from 1973 to the 2000’s it covers the beginning days of his entertainment career as a street dancer, the beginning of the California trend of skateboarding and becoming a two-time recording artist with Elektra Asylum Records and BMG label Zoo Entertainment.
Paul Guzman-Sanchez with his dance group Chain Reaction was the first street dance group in a major motion picture to dance locking and popping in Xanadu in 1981, he would be the first street dancer to do the dance, popping and down rocking in a music video on MTV and dance with Michael Jackson in THRILLER. This documentary follows his achievements, the ups, the downs, the good and the bad of his career. We've all seen him on TV, Commercials, Music Videos, and Movies, but have never known who this person was. This documentary gives a new understanding of how influential COOLPOCKETS® was in American pop culture from the Mid 70s to the 2000s and on.
